We liked it alot! I thought they did a wonderful job with everything. The costumes were awesome! I even like Jiggy at the Christmas meal!
The one thing I wondered is why the carriage wasn't in movie. All they showed were black carriages. The AG one is most likely made after the Wyith carriage, so it is a replica, just not in the movie!
This one did blow Samantha away...it was just darling.

I wasn't going to post but changed my mind. I think it's a wonderful wholesome movie for families to watch. My favorite parts were the very beginning where Felicity is riding the horse through those lush green fields, and the end when when it was Christmas. I think the little actress who played Felicity was perfect.
I loved her sister Nan. Since I'm not a reader of the books I had assumed that Nan was to be older than Felicity, but I guess I was confusing Nan and "Bananabelle."
Was anyone's little girl scared by Jiggy? I think I would have been if I were 6-8 years old.
I think the period outfits throughout the whole movie were really beautiful.
One scene I hated was where the grandfather was dying (choking).
The one big thing that I was disappointed in was that I didn't get the feeling that Felicity and Elizabeth were much more than acquaintances. I had hoped for a stronger friendship bond. Did anyone else come away with this feeling, too? The bond between Felicity and Ben, however, was what I expected.
I actually have the hardbound Felicity book that has all the stories in one (from Costco). I guess I need to pick them up and read them sometime.

Well, I'm almost done watching it now, and I must say, it is very sweet. So far I've seen every dress ever made for Lissie, including the work dress and the town fair dress, so I have lots of hope for spring Plus Shailene is so adorably bad at dancing that it makes her even more like Lissie. And NAN! So cute! Oh I could just hug her! The costumes are incredible. and I do mean incredible. No offense intended, but it leaves the Samantha movie in the dust.

It was great! I watched it with a friend of mine who is not into AG and she loved it to (we are 25 and 55!) :-).
Felicity watched too, wearing her green riding habit. She was excited to see actresses wearing all her clothes! :-)

I don't mean to be a snitch, but I hated it. Not enough action! Samantha's was waaaaaaaaay better.

I really did enjoy Lissie's movie. I thought the beginning was a little slow and, as others have commented, a little stilted. And I too was disappointed that Elizabeth's character was not more fleshed out.
I was also disappointed that so many of the items in the Movie Shop weren't actually in the movie! I didn't catch the carriage, but I'll have to go back and look for that one. In the books, there's a pic of that carriage, except I believe it's the one the palace guys are in when they deliver the invitation! And, no Noah's ark. No Elizabeth bed, nighttime necessities, nightshift, or clothes press.
Oh well, overall, I thought the costumes were absolutely beautiful, the acting was much improved, and the DVD will be on my Christmas wishlist!

I LOVED it!!!! I thought Shailene was wonderful and little Nan was a dollbaby(no pun intended LOL)!I cried buckets at the end,as well as when Grandpa died.I've always had a soft spot for Felicity anyway.I like how she makes amends with Jiggy Nye at the end,did that happen in the books? It's been a long time since I've read them

My daughter and I enjoyed the movie. We were so impressed with all the lovely costumes and the scenery was beautiful too. Because we have an HDTV and the movie was broadcast in high definition, it made it all the more nicer to view.
The commericals were a hoot too. I laughed everytime when the boy was about to kiss the girl and her father turned on the Christmas lights. The coca-cola commercial with the polar bears and the penguins was really cute too.
